You’ll continue on to the remote Big Bend National Park, one of America’s most pristine parks. Hike through Santa Elena Canyon, gaze out over the Chisos Mountains and spot coyotes or roadrunners as the sun sets in an orange glow.

After the tranquility of Big Bend, Marfa awaits—an oasis of art and minimalism in the middle of the desert. Stay outside in the evening to witness the mysterious Marfa Lights, luminous phenomena that have been astonishing visitors for decades.

From El Paso, you can reach the stunning White Sands National Park. The snow-white gypsum dunes stretch endlessly beneath a bright blue sky. Walk barefoot across the cool sand or wait until sunset for a pastel-pink light show over the white landscape.
