MLB: Baseball Trips

From spring training to the World Series, experience the magic of MLB

The baseball season in the United States, better known as Major League Baseball or simply MLB, is an annual marathon full of excitement, tradition, and unadulterated American sporting enjoyment. From late March through October, the entire country breathes baseball. As soon as the first ball of the season is thrown, the stadiums fill with cheering fans, the crackling of popcorn and hot dogs can be heard throughout the stands, and a months-long series of games begins in which every hit, throw, and catch counts.

Every pitch is an opportunity,

every hit a story.

MLBgames are played almost every day, so there is always something for fans to follow. Because the teams are spread across the United States, game times vary from early afternoon games to evening games, which are often broadcast in Europe at night. During the regular season, teams play a whopping 162 games, a huge number that ensures there is plenty of action every week. Especially during the week—from Monday to Friday—there are usually several series on the schedule, in which teams often play the same opponent three or four times in a row. This gives each series its own story and builds rivalries that last for generations.

On weekends, the MLB experience is even more intense. Saturdays are packed with games that fans can follow all day long, while Sundays are known for their “Sunday Showdowns”: big games that are often played during the day so that fans around the world can watch without having to stay up late. The rhythm of the season, the changing weather, and the ever-shifting standings make baseball a perfect combination of tradition and constant surprise.

October marks the start of the most spectacular part of the year: the playoffs, or as Americans call it, the postseason. This is the stage where the best teams compete against each other in nerve-wracking series, where every inning can make a difference. The Wild Card Games, the Division Series, and then the Championship Series provide pure adrenaline. Stadiums vibrate with excitement, and every game is watched by millions of fans hoping that their team will make it to the end.

The big highlight comes in late October: the World Series, a best-of-seven series between the champions of the American League and the National League. This final is much more than a sports competition; it is an event full of history, emotion, and unforgettable moments that is broadcast to viewers around the world. The evenings of the World Series bring families together, give birth to legends, and form a spectacular conclusion to the MLB season every year.

Even before the official season starts, there is baseball fun to be had during Spring Training, which takes place in February and March in sunny states such as Florida and Arizona. Here, young talents and new players get the chance to shine, while fans enjoy the first baseball of the year in a relaxed atmosphere.

Some tips for a game

Arriving at the stadium early is recommended:

ballparks are real meeting places where fans gather hours before the first pitch. You can stroll around, watch the players warm up, and enjoy the view from different stands, without the hustle and bustle of the game itself.

The culinary experience during the game

Each stadium has its own typical dishes that are often linked to the city or region. In Chicago, for example, you can taste a real Chicago Dog, while in Kansas City you will find delicious barbecue and in Boston clam chowder. It is really worth trying the local specialty, as this will make your visit to the ballpark unique.

What to do after the game?

Some teams put on fireworks shows after evening games, while others have special theme nights where you can collect souvenirs or meet players. These extras make an MLB game even more special and are often a nice way to end the day.
