Deep South

12 to 16 days

The Deep South – warm, vibrant, and full of soul. This tour takes you through the beating heart of America’s musical heritage. Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee form a triangle where music, cuisine, and culture intersect.

New Orleans

Start in New Orleans, where jazz fills every alley and colorful balconies transport you to another era. Stroll through the French Quarter, sample the spicy jambalaya, and let yourself be swept away by a live brass band on Bourbon Street.

An experience full of rhythm,
flavor, and stories

Drive north along the Mississippi River and visit plantations such as Oak Alley and Laura Plantation. These stately mansions evoke an era of wealth, but they also bear witness to the grim history of slavery.

Lafayette

Further on you’ll get a taste of Cajun culture. Dance to zydeco at a local club and discover the Acadian heritage at an open-air museum filled with wooden cottages and stories. From the city, you can reach Lake Martin, a marshland where you can spot alligators, turtles, and hundreds of bird species on a boat tour.

Natchez

In Natchez you’ll step back in time. Here you’ll find more than 500 well-preserved mansions, including Longwood, an unfinished octagonal mansion that is unique in the United States.

Memphis

Next up is Memphis, the birthplace of the blues and the place where Elvis Presley left his mark on music history but also a major hub of the civil rights movement. The National Civil Rights Museum, located in the Lorraine Motel where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated, offers an in-depth look at the struggle for equality in America. Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, is an iconic site, as is Sun Studio, where artists like Johnny Cash and B.B. King recorded their first songs. In the evenings, Beale Street buzzes with live blues music.

Did you know that Graceland welcomes more visitors than any other house in the U.S.—except the president’s?

Nashville

The final stop is Nashville, also known as “Music City.” It is the undisputed capital of country music and the songwriting mecca of America. Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, stroll along the legendary Music Row, and let yourself be swept up in the energy of the live performances taking place everywhere.
